Benefits of integrated impact assessments
The people who are affected by our proposals have different needs. For example:
- older people are more likely to face barriers accessing online services
- women are more likely to be vulnerable to poverty
- disabled people are more likely to face barriers to accessing public transport.
Integrated impact assessments will help us consider the potential impacts of our proposals on people with different needs. IIAs align to the Partnerships ambitions set out in Equal Edinburgh and will help us to:
- make sure our proposals are fair for everyone
- improve service delivery efficiency
- ensure we comply with our legal obligations
- embed Council behaviours of:
- respect
- integrity
- flexibility.
You should consider equality in everything you do. When our proposals are fair, it will have a positive impact on all people from a range of backgrounds, including people from groups with protected characteristics.
