How we improved the process

This guidance was updated collaboratively by colleagues in

  • internal audit
  • external partners.

It reflects feedback from colleagues and partners including the Equality and Rights Network, and recommendations from Internal Audit.  The improvements include

  • ensuring the needs of communities are at the centre of our decision making process
  • providing step-by-step instructions make assessments more meaningful, easier and more consistent
  • a new accessible IIA template in line with inclusive communications guidance
  • a new screening template to support colleagues to ascertain and record when an IIA is not required.
