Today (12 May) marks International Nurses Day – a day of recognition for the dedication and professionalism of those in the nursing profession.
Chief Officer of Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership, Christine Laverty, said: “Our nurses are at the very heart of care delivery across Edinburgh.
“Their unwavering commitment and dedication to the profession brings comfort, healing, and hope to countless individuals and families.
“Today, and every day, we recognise and celebrate their invaluable contribution.”
Chief Nurse at EHSCP, Jill Irwin, said: “As we mark International Nurses Day, I want to take the opportunity to thank all nursing staff working across Edinburgh for the care, professionalism and commitment you show every day.
“I continue to be impressed by the resilience, leadership and teamwork demonstrated by our nursing workforce.
“International Nurses Day gives us a valuable moment to pause and recognise the impact of nursing both globally and here at a local level. I am enormously proud to be Chief Nurse in Edinburgh and grateful for the dedication nurses bring to their roles and to supporting one another.”
