Councillor Lezley Marion Cameron DL has been appointed as the new Chair of the Edinburgh Integration Joint Board.
The Labour and Co-operative Party Councillor for Liberton/Gilmerton and Depute Lord Provost of the City of Edinburgh brings extensive experience in public service and governance to the role.
As Chair, Councillor Cameron will work with Board members, partners and communities across Edinburgh to help shape the future of our health and social care services for adults in Edinburgh.
Councillor Cameron said:
“I am honoured to take on the role of Chair of the Edinburgh Integration Joint Board and determined to work openly and collectively with colleagues, partners and communities across Edinburgh to improve outcomes for our service users, recognising the ongoing and increasingly tight funding circumstances.
“I am also committed to building on the strong foundations already achieved and to strengthening prevention and early intervention, with physical activity playing an important role in helping people stay well, remain independent and to live well for longer.
“I further believe it vital that our service provision evolves in response to what we know and what is forecast in terms of data, demographics, and changing demands for services in order to support the independent living of our residents.”
Christine Laverty, Chief Officer of Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership, welcomed the appointment, saying:

Councillor Cameron takes over from Councillor Conor Savage as Chair of the Edinburgh Integration Joint Board.
