The Edinburgh Integration Joint Board are looking for carer representatives
Could you represent carers and help us shape the future of health and social care in Edinburgh?
We are recruiting carer representatives for the EIJB. This will be for a a three -year term. In this role, you will represent carers of all ages living in Edinburgh who provide unpaid help and support to a relative, friend or neighbour to help them live independently. This position is non voting and will provide the Edinburgh Integration Joint Board (EIJB) with a carer’s perspective. Your perspective will help inform the planning, development and oversight of health and social care services delivered by the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership (EHSCP) and ensure we get it right for carers in Edinburgh.
What is the Edinburgh Integration Joint Board?
The EIJB is the main decision-making body for health and social care in Edinburgh. The Board is made up of representatives including City of Edinburgh Council elected members and NHS Lothian Board non-executive directors. It also also includes third sector representatives, health and social care professionals, carers and citizen representatives.
The EIJB meets 8 times a year, (formal board meetings and development sessions). It is responsible for the development of its Strategic Plan, which sets out our priorities for delivery of health and social care services across Edinburgh. Read the Strategic Plan
What are we looking for in a carer representative
By joining the EIJB, you will:
- represent and champion the view of carers at the EIJB, the Strategic Planning Group and other local and national strategic groups.
- contribute to the good governance regarding the EIJB’s statutory obligations
- help to shape the planning of future services and services delivered by the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership
We are looking for someone over the age of 18, who is or has been an unpaid carer. You must live in Edinburgh to do this role.
It would be good if you also had experience in representing groups and co-production in health and social care.

Recruitment process for carer representative
To apply, please compete the short form below. If we think you could be right for the role, we will invite you for a an interview. The Interview panel will consist of the EIJB Chair or Vice Chair and the EHSCP’s Chief Officer.
