There are a range of opportunities which include:

  • Lunch clubs

Usually run for two to three hours and offer a hot meal. Normally you will contribute towards the cost of your meal and transport, if provided. Lunch clubs are offered throughout the city.

  • Day centres

Can offer activities, classes and day trips. Your personal care is free of charge, transport and meals are provided, usually at a low cost.

  • One to one care

Means that someone comes to your own home to help you to get out and about or support you in activities at home. They can help you with personal care and other needs as required.

Activities may include:

  • Quizzes and games

  • Arts and crafts

  • Visiting entertainers

  • Cooking lessons

  • Chair exercises

  • Day trips

Our day services are staffed by specially trained individuals and are open from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday. If it is identified that you require transport to and from a day centre, we will provide this.

At your first visit, you will be greeted by a key worker who will show you around, help you settle in and will be your contact for any questions. Your key worker will also work with you to prepare a personal plan. If staff for any reason feel that there is a decline in your health, they can also arrange for you to have a conversation with us about your needs.

There is a charge for this service, which includes transport, personal care and meals. A financial assessment will work out the amount you need to contribute to the cost.
