Three people wearing inflatable costumes - a snowman, a turkey and a Christmas treeOur South West Locality Team put in a wonderful effort last week to raise money and collect toys for Cash for Kids’ Mission Christmas. Members of the team organised a raffle and held a bake sale at the local office, and got into the Christmas spirit by going all out with their festive costumes!

Cash for Kids aims to improve the lives of disadvantaged children and young people who are affected by poverty, illness, neglect or have additional needs. Mission Christmas raises money and collects toys so that children who may not get any presents have a gift to open on Christmas Day.

Deborah Mackle, Locality Manager – South West Edinburgh said: ‘We had great fun raising money and collecting toys for Cash for Kids. The team were fantastic, and were delighted to raise over £250 to help provide gifts for children who may have woken up to nothing on Christmas Day.’

A Christmas tree with toys for children underneathVictoria Hendry, Charity Manager for Forth Cash For Kids said: “I would like to thank the Edinburgh Health and Social Care Partnership South West Locality team for their fantastic effort in collecting toys and raising over £250 for Cash For Kids, to support vulnerable and disadvantaged children across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Fife and Falkirk. With the cost of living crisis we have received more applications for help than ever before. So we really, really appreciate them and everyone else like them who are doing such an amazing job fundraising for us. Our Christmas mission this year has been accomplished, but you can still donate at www.forth1.com/mission so we can help children and young people next year.”
